Evangelia Thomadakis was born on 6th of December 1979 in the city of Thessaloniki, Greece.

Her interest in fashion design was apparent from an early age. With the support, encouragement and love of her family, Evangelia pursued her dream and went on to study Fashion in the United Kingdom at the University for the Creative Arts (UCA) formerly known as The Surrey Institute of Art & Design.

Upon graduating from the UCA with a BA (Hons) in 2003, Evangelia was offered an unconditional place to remain at the Institute and undertake an MA in Fashion Design, which she completed in June 2005.

In 2006, she joined the pattern cutting team at Vivienne Westwood, and worked for the Gold Label. It was this experience that inspired her and enriched her fascination for the philosophy behind precision pattern cutting.

This was the turning point for Evangelia's designs. Driven by her enthusiasm and passion, Evangelia decided to undertake a Postgraduate Certificate in Innovative Pattern Cutting at Central Saint Martin's College in 2007.

In December 2007 she set up the pattern cutting department for soft and separates at Get Clothing and its sister company Armondi supplying for the retail high street.

In 2009, Evangelia launched her eponymous label Evangelia Thomadakis London.

She debuted in August 2009 launching Spring Summer 2010 collection at Pure London. Her major inspiration was to: "Let the shapes engage with fabrics and tell their own story".

In February 2010 she launched her second Collection for Autumn Winter 2010.

The Autumn Winter collection captures all the elements that she cherishes as a designer, as a woman, and as an artist. Her inspiration derived from experimenting with shapes, and contradicting them with colours, textures and fabrics. A major source of her inspiration came from looking at the dandified image, as portrayed by Beau Brummell in London during in 18th century."The Collection illustrates shapes that hug the body and enhance the femininity of the woman. The enhancement of the shapes was captured in the cutting by the origami approach, without making them look too structured.

Evangelia Thomadakis styles are designed to help women make a statement whatever the occasion, with classic garments bringing a refreshing, sophisticated and crystallizing new taste to the palette.

At the current stage she is working on a capsule collection for Spring Summer 2013.

Evangelia is now working on the development of new concepts around her collection. Taking advantage of her Textiles background, she is creating a collection for which she will be featuring her own prints on jersey.

Furthermore, she has been offered a Fellowship from the Ethical Fashion Forum, which will be announced in a event taking place later this year, as well a collaboration between EFF end Evangelia Thomadakis. She is also working on collaborations with Osman Ghani, bringing new ideas and styles into the bridal market.

Evangelia Thomadakis apart from running her own fashion label holds a position as Programme Leader of MSc Fashion Technology at The British Institute of Technology and e-commerce. In her recent article at e-Britain she stated "It is a fantastic opportunity for me to be the leader of the MSc Fashion Technology programme at British Institute of Technology and E-commerce (BITE), because it allows me to share my knowledge, skills and professional development and to encourage future designers to pursue a career in fashion with in the UK or abroad".
